On January 13, 2014, members of the Wellsville Fire District Board (WFD) and the Miami County Fire District #1 Board (MICO) agreed to the terms of a new service agreement.  Under the agreement, the Wellsville Fire District will provide fire, rescue and first responder medical services to portions of Richland and Stanton Townships in northwest Miami County.  The two year agreement includes the transfer of all apparatus and equipment to the WFD that had been jointly owned by MICO and Franklin Township of Franklin County, as well as MICO-owned equipment that was housed at the Wellsville Fire Station. The agreement ensures that citizens of northwest Miami County will continue to receive faster response times from Wellsville than they otherwise would from the MICO station in Paola.  For a map of the Wellsville Fire District service area click here.
